You have the right to receive a “Good Faith Estimate”, which explains how much your mental health treatment will cost. Under the law, health care providers need to give clients who don’t have insurance or who are not using insurance an estimate of the bill for medical items and services. You have the right to receive a Good Faith Estimate for the total expected cost for your counseling treatment. This estimate should include related costs like cancellation/no show fees, fees for written assessments and other written reports. It is my responsibility to give you a Good Faith Estimate in writing at least 1 business day before your mental health treatment commences. In the Good Faith Estimate, I will provide not only the cost per session, but also an estimate of how long I expect your mental health services will typically last. As it is difficult to predict how long treatment will take prior to completing an assessment and treatment plan, the estimate will necessarily reflect typical costs. If your specific treatment requires more sessions than originally estimated, we will discuss this in session. You can also ask for a Good Faith Estimate at any point in your treatment. If you receive a bill that is at least $400 more than your Good Faith Estimate that we have not previously discussed, you can dispute the bill. Make sure to save a copy or picture of your Good Faith Estimate. For questions or more information about your right to a Good Faith Estimate, visit www.cms.gov/nosurprises.

We will take some time for me to get to know you and you to share more detail with me about the things you’re wanting support around. I will review all the required practice documents with you, and we will go through a couple of questionnaires together. Then we will make a plan for our work together, including areas of focus and how many sessions we want to schedule.

In many ways this is up to you, and with extended and intensive sessions the answer is often less time than in a typical weekly therapy setting. You will know you are done with therapy when you feel you have met your goals and are seeing the changes you were working for come into fruition in your life.

For 90 min sessions I have a 48 hour cancellation policy. If you need to reschedule or cancel within 48 hours and I am unable to reschedule you within the week, you will be charged the full rate of your session.
For 120, 180, and 300 min sessions I have a one week cancellation policy. If you need to reschedule within one week of your scheduled session, a 50% late cancellation fee will be charged for the reschedule, and the full rate of your session will be charged at the time of the session. If you cancel entirely within one week of your scheduled session you will be charged a $460 scheduling fee.

Therapy is absolutely confidential. While there are some exceptions where I may need to share specific information as a mandated reporter (when children, the elderly, or other vulnerable populations are experiencing harm) I always make an effort to do this process with you. Beyond those requirements our work together stays between us.
